Time to reminisce
and have fun! |
The Semicon Show in San Francisco
this year was uneventful and sparse. Many exhibitors, especially
bonding equipment companies, that usually frequent the show were
noticeably absent. Is it the economy? Who knows for sure.
Events like the Semicon Show bring
people in the industry together to collaborate but most importantly
it gives us old timers a chance to reminisce and have fun. This year
will probably be my last until I get the invite to sign up again for
Semicon West 2011 where I will most likely talk Dave into going
again.

The Semicon Show in San Jose is
more than a trade show for old-timers like us. Back in the 70's we used to
work the K&S exhibition booth. Standing up and talking to customers for 3 days
non-stop, we couldn't wait until closing time each day so we could hit the
bars and have dinner. Those were the good old days working for K&S.
At Semicon West 2002, we walked around all day,
looking for the other old timers, and couldn't
wait until the close of the show so we could hit the bars again and have
dinner. See, nothing has changed except a few gray hairs and a few more
pounds!! |
