We service all manual bonders.

How long will it take to repair?
That depends on the problem. We will evaluate your machine and give you an estimate.

Will you charge me to look at the machine?
There is no charge to examine your machine. We charge for the repairs, parts and installation we perform.

What if you can't fix my machine?
If we can't fix your machine there is no charge.

How long do you guarantee your work?
Our repairs are guaranteed for 30 days providing the problem you are having is the same one we repaired.

How can I be sure you will know what the problem is?
Our lead service engineer has repaired manual bonders for over 30 years and was a service engineer for Kulicke & Soffa (K&S) for 9 years.

Do you carry spare parts for my machine?
We carry a huge inventory of spare parts for most machines.

Do you offer training?
Yes, we can train at your facility.

Equipment

What kind of equipment do you sell?
We sell used equipment. Our Equipment List usually lists the equipment we have in stock but sometimes we have other items not listed. Please note that we DO NOT ship equipment outside of the United States.
Please
Contact us for details.

What if I need something you do not have in stock?
We can usually locate the machine you are looking for.

Do you guarantee the machines you sell?
We guarantee every machine to be in working order for 30 days from date of invoice unless otherwise stated.

Do you service what you sell?
We service all equipment we sell unless otherwise stated.

What do I get when I buy a machine from you?
Our machines include a fully functional stereo zoom 4 microscope, workholder, tools and manual (if available)*.
Delivery and set-up of the machine are also included**.
We give basic training for the machine operator if needed.
*  unless otherwise stated
** within Southern California only

What if I don't know which machine to use?
We can help you determine the exact machine to fit your application.
We will never sell you something you can't use.

Will you demo the machine?
In most cases we will demo the machine for 1 week.

What if the machine does not work on my application?
You are under no obligation to purchase the machine.

Do you lease equipment?
No, we do not lease equipment.

How long does a bonder last?
If serviced properly and at regular intervals, a manual bonder will last indefinitely.

Why do I need a manual bonder instead of an automatic?
Manual bonders are used in a variety of applications. Most R&D facilities use them. Some applications just can not be changed to automatic process.

Bonding

I can't get the ball to form?
Either there is not enough tail, the EFO is out of adjustment, or the capillary is dirty or clogged.

The wire is not bonding to the parts?
Either the capillary or wedge is worn out or the parts are contaminated

Machine won't cycle?
Either the fuse is blown or the wire is broken on the board.

Machine won't stop cycling?
Either the fuse is blown, the board is bad or there is an open circuit.

Wire keeps breaking during bond?
Too much power or force.

Theory

What is an EFO?
An Electronic Flame Off burns the wire up and forms a ball after the second bond is made.

What is Thermocompression?
The original method of ball and wedge bonding. TC bonding requires an accurate and precise combination of heat, force and mechanical vibration. Both the tip and workstage are heated.

What is Thermosonic?
The major difference between Thermocompression and Thermosonic bonding is the introduction of high frequency ultrasonic vibration to the tip during bonding. This is achieved by mounting the tip onto an ultrasonic transducer and adding heat to the workstage.

What is Ultrasonic?
Ultrasonics convert mechanical movement to energy. Ultrasonic bonding uses no heat on the workholder to bond wire to the die and the substrate.
